Wire rope slings with fiber core and aluminum crimping according to DIN EN 13414

Dolezych presses cylindrically as standard. Long-conical crimping according to DIN EN 13411-3 Form C is carried out with specially designed clamps on request. Advantages arise when pulling through under the load, because nothing can get caught.

Advantages “Flemish eye

  • Eyelet formation by splicing + crimping = 100% – safety to the minimum breaking load for all 6-strand machined types
  • conical slim steel press clamp does not hook when pulling through under loads or when bundling
  • more wear resistant than the aluminum clamp
  • ideal for hot use up to 400 ‘C when the wire rope is equipped with a steel core and a steel press clamp
  • low wear – therefore favorable price-performance ratio

  • At temperatures of +150’C – +200’C 90% remain, at +200’C – +300’C 75

Wire rope slings economy comparison

The purchase price of standard sling ropes is 1, while the price of DoFlex “S” flexible sling ropes is 1.5 times higher, and the price of DoFlex “K” ropes is approx. 2.5 times higher. In terms of service life, DoFlex “S” ropes are superior to standard types by a factor of about 2, and cable lay ropes by a factor of 6.

The initial additional investment therefore pays off after a short time, in the diagram after the 3rd investment in a normal type rope.

Load sling – DoPremium

The advantages of different sling rope types in one product:

  • With the rope construction 6×61 IWRC you get a very flexible full steel rope, which is clearly superior in breaking load to a standard sling with fiber core.
  • The selected wire strength of 1960 N/mm2 supports the requirement for a high breaking load.
  • The “Flemish eye” compression fitting offers a robust steel clamp that is highly resistant to wear caused by abrasion.
  • The conical shape of the crimp prevents the sling from catching when pushed through under the load.
  • The sling ropes are manufactured completely in the European color code as known from lifting slings and round slings (DBGM).
  • With the 3 dimensions in the easily distinguishable traffic light colors green, yellow and red and the load capacities from 2 to 5 t, the range of common transport tasks is covered.

The splice

Load sling with two spliced loops

Load slings with 2 spliced loops made of the flexible rope type 6×37 + FC in galvanized finish.

Lifting ropes with spliced loops according to DIN EN 13411-2 (formerly DIN 3089-1) are ideal for lifting operations where space is limited. They can be easily pulled under loads due to their narrow, conical shape. In contrast to the press clamp, the splice allows bending stresses at any point.

We also manufacture the splice with 3 hand protection variants to prevent hand injuries caused by protruding wires:

  • wrapped with sturdy adhesive tape
  • with heat shrink tubing
  • with wire banding

The implementation instructions for the splice as well as the requirements for the splicer and necessary tests are regulated by DIN EN 13411-2. Splice connections have the advantage that they are very flexible. For example, an unloaded spliced rope can be pulled out from under a load that is tight against a ship’s side. Of course, splices – as well as all other end connections – must not be kinked under load.
Splices are covered with ribbon braid or shrink tape to prevent hand injuries.
