Basic information
DoLast lifting clamps are the problem solution for transporting sheet metal and profiles and can be precisely matched to their area of application. The use of clamps and grippers is subject to the provisions of the BGR 500 (formerly UVV 18.4). Important: Clamps and the load to be transported must fit together in the gripping area because there is a risk of slipping out. Only one sheet may be transported at a time in a clamp, so that the frictional connection between clamp and sheet is guaranteed.
The minimum load is 10% of the specified working load.
For transporting vertically hanging sheets, lifting clamps with safety lever must be used.
There are suitable turning clamps for erecting lying boards and for laying down and turning. The tensile force acting on the DoLast lifting clamp presses the hardened clamping jaw (Palle) with its grooves against the sheet by means of a lever system in such a way that a kind of microform closure is created. On the opposite side, a rosette presses into the plate in the same way, which should have a surface hardness between the values St 37 and St 52.3. An internal spring ensures that the lifting clamp holds even when the plate is set down, i.e. without lifting force. Only by loosening the safety lever the plate is released. The clamping effect by the lifting system is only sufficient, if the thickness of the sheet is in the gripping range of the lifting clamp. In the case of a lifting clamp with a lower gripping limit of e.g. 10 mm, thinner sheets would slip through.
DoLast lifting clamps for vertical transport of sheets or plates are always only suitable for transporting a sheet.
For horizontal sheet transport there are lockable and non-lockable lifting clamps. For thin sheets, which can bend strongly and swing , the lockable lifting clamps are recommended. To safely transport sheets or sheet packages horizontally, it is better to use DoLastlifting beams and 4 lifting clamps. For dry and polished sheets, special clamps are available which have a higher contact pressure with flat, unfluted pressure surfaces to avoid notches in the sheet.
For special profiles such as rails, sheet piles or double-T beams, there are special clamps, some of which also operate with positive locking.
Removal-operated lifting clamps are available it air-operated or mechanically releasable. This is particularly advantageous with clamping beams, as the slinger – standing outside the danger zone of the load – can release all DoLast lifting clamps simultaneously .
For applications in chemicals and at temperatures above 50° C, standard clamps are unsuitable. The lever joints would quickly be damaged. Special clamps are available for chemical applications. Please inquire.
Due to different designs of the DoLast lifting clamps: It is essential to observe the operating instructions supplied with the respective clamp type!
As a general rule, only use lifting clamps with legible labeling of the load capacity, the gripping range and the nameplate .
Operating instructions:
The attachment surfaces for the DoLast lifting clamps on the transport material must be exactly opposite each other . The surfaces should be without scale, dirt, lubricants or other coatings. When lifting and turning vertically with suitable lifting clamps, only one part may be transported . When setting up and turning with two or more lifting clamps , the bottom edge must remain in contact with the ground. To prevent the load from swinging, it is attached above the center of gravity or, better, two lifting clamps are used .
No persons are allowed to stay under suspended loads and in the danger zone!
Each DoLast lifting clamp must be checked before initial operation and after each repair and at least once a year by an expert . With regular use, an inspection interval of no more than 3 months is advisable. Check the bolts, housing, suspension and levers for deformations and cracks. The gripping parts must be replaced, if they are visibly worn . Here, the inspection of each tooth is important, because with a constant plate thickness only 1 tooth wears out! During the inspection, also check the spring preload . Worn parts should be replaced at Dolezych. Only original spare parts guarantee the functionality of the lifting clamps.

It is forbidden to stay under the transport material of lifting clamps and grabs!

The all-purpose grab lifts objects, that fit into the grab jaw. Fast, simple and secure. The large gripping area enables the use for the a wide range of transport tasks in steel and apparatus engineering, in the Machine tool feeding and production facilities as well as when welding and assembling workpieces of all kinds. Due to the spring tension of the clamping jaw the transported goods are also held when the traction means is unloaded will.
